  • Coordinated focus groups and conducted extensive research into competitive brands and cooling technology

  • Designed and created a working prototype utilizing a CNC mill and 3D printer

  • Full-size working prototype was accepted by Salt Life for product consideration

2016
Glucagon Injector Design 
  • Medical device design studio was my selection for the open studio

  • I chose to focus on Type 1 Diabetes after saving my brother’s life over the summer with a poorly designed Lilly glucagon injector pen

  • Met with endocrinologists from Atlanta Diabetes Associates to better understand the science behind the current pen device Researched current mechanical device engineering and created a single use solution that was simpler and less prone to errors

  • Using SOLIDWORKS, I designed a detailed 3D model and 3D design to doctors for review

Char-Broil Accessories Design Studio
  • Char-Broil was looking to expand its current lines of grill accessories

  • Created a new paper towel, tool organizer for the grill market Involved in planning large focus groups and conducted customer discovery sessions

  • Multiple rounds of prototyping and presentation of designs to senior management in studio

  • Final model was vacuumed formed, 3D printed and presented to senior management at Char-Broil headquarters in Columbus, GA

Big Time Products Welding Gloves Design 
  • Big Time Products (BTP) was looking to expand its current product line due to loss of sales in the sports glove mass-market to Reebok and UnderArmor

  • Planned focus groups that involved local law enforcement as well as with the local welding school

  • Conducted anthropometric studies that involved hand castings, selected material study for durability and thermal conductivity

  • The final prototype design was in the work glove welding classification, combining my extensive welding knowledge with the customer information and production capabilities of BTP manufacturing.

  • The final presentation was at BTP headquarters to senior management and may go into production.
